Recipe Card: Maraschino Cherry Cookies

These dairy and egg-free cookies have been a staple at my house recently! Check out the recipe below for a sweet treat, or screenshot the recipe card attached. It would also be cute printed and framed or hung on the fridge in your kitchen.

Maraschino Cherry Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 cup cold butter, cubed (I use a DF butter alternative!)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • A splash of extra cherry juice if you want it

Ingredients:

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and 1/2 cup sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Knead in cherries and extract until dough forms a ball.
  2. Shape into 3/4-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten slightly with a glass dipped in remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Bake at 325° for 15-20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
